Mills River Creamery Now Offering New Exciting Products
For generations, our family has supplied fresh milk to the Western North Carolina area. Throughout the decades, we only produced milk that was processed and sold by larger milk companies in the region, but in the fall of 2014, we opened our own small plant in the Mills River community.
Until this fall, we used milk produced from our Holstein herd, but starting on November 12, 2016, we opened the new dairy in Mills River which is the home to a small herd of registered Jerseys. These cows are being fed all non-GMO feed ingredients and will have grass to be turned out on as weather permits. .
Further, we purposely purchased Jersey cows that tested solely for the A2 beta casein. This will enable us to offer a new and exciting product to our customers; this is somewhat a rare product that’s growing in popularity. We’re very excited about this new phase for our business and for our customers.
